This key was a real experiment in pivot design, I thought a key arm balanced on a fine blade would make an excellent low friction bearing which indeed it did, however making the key stable and usable was another matter, I spent a long time making a gap adjuster that also acted as a means of mounting the arm on the pivot blade, also the milling of the blade seat was quite tricky as I was on a steep learning curve with milling tools, at the end of the project it turned out to be a really nice key with a very solid yet free action, and pleasing simple lines, I learnt a lot making this key.
