On 20/2/2009 I reassessed this key, it was the 14th key
that I had made and I thought then it was the tops, now looking back after
making 145 keys I now realise it had a few problems, It did however teach me
a lot about Morse key design, but time I think for a remake, the bearings
were to small for the weight of the key and to be honest not fitted very
well, and the whole key was badly balanced being to tail heavy, the big
heavy flat knobs were also unattractive, and the slide round low angle knob
(which was fitted as an after thought) just added to the tail weight.
So I have fitted much bigger 5/8 open race bearings, removed the low angle
knob and fitted a more conventional type, cut back the main key arm to
reduce the tail weight, and fitted a contact spring on the nose of the key, it is
now some key with a real wow factor!! and as intended very very adjustable,
