This is another real experimental key, the sort of key I love making, mainly as it tests my abilities and also I never know how well the key will perform until its almost finished, in essence its another of my favourite adjustable balance keys, this time the main body will be quite heavy unlike my previous Alloy keys of this type, so the balance weight, in this case a heavy threaded brass rod, will only be about 20% of the total arm weight, hopefully it will only require a small change of balance when adjusting, the bearings are small enclosed ball type mounted in a solid holder cut from a complete block, as the balance weight covers the complete top of the key all the adjustments are fitted under the arm, it is a low angle finger type action. shown here with the threaded bar forward to give a slightly nose heavy feel which I tend towards, now easy to adjust it is a fine key with a light crisp action.
