This key was an experiment to see if I could weave the magic of an 80 series into a more standard looking straight key, I have had to reduce the tail weight to get the right balance and today it was complete enough to test for the first time, it is a very fine key but for some reason it just hasn't got that 80 series "feel" about it, it's harder and more "machine" like in its action, more like the Schurr straight keys, I know some marine ops would simply love this key, I suspect the action feels different because of the extra weight in the front and back but reduced in the middle over the pivot point, so not really what I'm after looks like another fine key for Ebay when its finished :()
