This is my Amplidan Mk3, when I decided to make the Mk2 I ordered enough materials to make another, and this is it, I won't display the different stages of making it as they will be more or less the same, I shall just update the pictures until its complete, the main difference on this one is a more simplified bearing block using M4 studding threaded through the main arm the ends of which push into ball races and locked with nuts, not very Amplidan but I'm sure it will be as good, and I shall fit dummy side adjusters later to keep the Amps good looks :) Something very interesting transpired during the making of these Amplidan copies, up until recently although I could get the action to feel very close to the original there was a small difference, after a lot of experimenting I found that the thin strip that holds the bottom contact that is fitted into the nose of the key in the original is made of plated steel, I had assumed it was like the rest of the key and was plated brass, replacing the brass strip with a steel one enhanced the action almost up to the quality of the original. I may go back to original pin pivots on the next one (If there is a next one)
