This is key 131 very nearly finished,
Recently I saw a lovely old key sold on Ebay for hundreds of $ it was made
by Lindholm and Wikstrom there is also a good write up and pictures in the
Telegraph Office
Info and three small original pictures below And I've tried to make a G3YUH version of it, Not a replica or
even a copy but I hope to capture the essence of it, and also incorporate
some additional extras to enhance it's performance if that's possible :()
I have already made some slight changes to
the original design, the block is a slightly different shape and includes my
favourite 7mm mini ballraces with their almost frictionless performance they
really enhance a keys action, the ends of the holder are tapped to M8 and
threaded slugs have been screwed in to gently press on the bearings to hold
them in place and locked with knurled rings, I have added a
vintage patina finish to the brasswork and the knob is a different shape but
I have seen similar teardrop knobs on these keys, just requires contacts and
a few minor adjustments, it has a fine long lever action and it's been real
fun to make |
